Meet RETOPO
Retopo creates stunning, apparel specific 3d visualizations for outdoor and activewear companies. We provide realistic 3d visualizations specific to your vision and goals, without the cost, time and burden of hiring, training and overseeing an in house artist.
Founder Ben Gerding brings to the table 10 years of traditional apparel development experience, including technical design, fabric development, and of course 3d visualization processes at leading outdoor and activewear companies.
Our intricate understanding of and passion for the apparel industry takes the guesswork out of making sure your visuals look exactly how you intend, with less revisions and time from you and your team.
FAQ
What do you do?
Create photo realistic, 3d apparel renders designed for stunning website, catalog and marketing materials.
What types of renders do you offer?
Hollow body, flat lays, detailed close ups, and animated rotating garments.
What is the benefit of a 3D render vs a photoshoot with real products?
3D renders are faster, usually cheaper, easy to change and customize colors/details of garments or backgrounds on the fly, and it is more sustainable (reduces samples and shipping of products).
What do you need from me to do a render?
At minimum we need a design sketch (flat sketch is fine). We also need a photo of the fabric, and basic fabric details as well as sizing preferences for your brand. If you are able to send a physical sample or fabric swatch that can be helpful in the beginning as well, but is not required.
Do you need patterns from us?
Patterns can make the process a lot easier on our end, and will likely reduce the overall cost of a project. While we are able to use your exact patterns to create renders, they are not required.
How do we provide feedback?
We use a secure, web based platform where the images are hosted with easy to use commenting and approval tools.
How much does it cost?
Obviously this varies depending on the complexity of each project. We have a four tiered pricing structure ranging from $500 per product to $900 per product. We’re happy to work with your budget and customize packages based on your needs.
Why shouldn’t I have one of my apparel people do it?
Between the complex learning curve, the expensive software, and the time dedication to learn 3D skills, it is easy to overwhelm an already overworked team. That’s where we come in and allow your team to excel in their current roles.
